Gradient Mesh

GRADIENT MESH - HYDROFLASK
ARTIST STATEMENT:
The piece I have created is a gradient mesh of my Hydroflask to exemplify the shadows and highlights of the water bottle, as it is backlit by the sun. I aimed to create a composition that shows the strength in contrast between the highlights and shadows, while keeping the Hydroflask similar to its original manner. My goal was to have a final composition that almost blended the shadows with the highlights to make the piece visually appealing.
I originally thought of the idea for this piece as I felt that the harsh light in my room would create strong shadows and highlights off of my greatly reflective water bottle. I use my water bottle everyday, hence why it immediately came to mind for this project. The way that contrast is shown in the right side of the Hydroflask versus the left is relevant to the piece as it shows the strength of the light in the original image. The color of the Hydroflask itself assisted in the success of the blend with the shadows and darker colors.
In conclusion, I aim to intrigue viewers visually with my overall composition. I found it important to create strong contrast and show depth. The way that the water bottle is extremely backlit allows for the creation of the gradient mesh composition to be more successful.

FINAL PORTFOLIO

FMX210 FINAL PORTFOLIO ARTIST STATEMENT:         FMX210 has been a complex yet rewarding class over this past fall semester. This course has taught me the logistics of countless Adobe programs which have bettered my digital media skills. Attached is my portfolio which includes each final project from each program we worked with. My portfolio is themed as red and black with the font Mercurius MT std bold to better the overall composition. Each page is a different project and is done in chronological order from the first unit through the last. I aimed to use InDesign to successfully create a visually appealing portfolio while displaying each of my projects on the consecutive pages, along with a table of contents and an about me page.          My portfolio is crafted in such a way that is visually appealing through the use of color choices, creative fonts, and a simple approach to highlight each project. The theme I chose to create wa...
