FINAL PORTFOLIO

FMX210 FINAL PORTFOLIO ARTIST STATEMENT:         FMX210 has been a complex yet rewarding class over this past fall semester. This course has taught me the logistics of countless Adobe programs which have bettered my digital media skills. Attached is my portfolio which includes each final project from each program we worked with. My portfolio is themed as red and black with the font Mercurius MT std bold to better the overall composition. Each page is a different project and is done in chronological order from the first unit through the last. I aimed to use InDesign to successfully create a visually appealing portfolio while displaying each of my projects on the consecutive pages, along with a table of contents and an about me page.          My portfolio is crafted in such a way that is visually appealing through the use of color choices, creative fonts, and a simple approach to highlight each project. The theme I chose to create was based off of a few separate ideas I had, a

Business Cards

BUSINESS CARDS ARTSIT STATEMENT:         Above are both sides of the three business cards I have created as a vegan food travel blogger. Each card is similar in its concept but varies by design, color scheme, font, and text. I aimed for each card to be visually appealing while including my logo and the colors I needed to incorporate.         Each business card varies from the next and is based off of the logo and the color scheme of that specific logo. I aimed to create very different styles to highlighted stylistic and visual appeal as it differs by viewer. I also ensured that the front and back correlated with each other to increase visual appeal. Additionally, the fonts and placement of each element add to the overall business card.         Overall, I am happy with the outcome of each business card and am glad that they vary greatly but are all visually appealing. I added gradient to one, quotes, small fonts and larger ones, and placed my logo methodically on

Somewhere

Somewhere Toy Project Artist Statement:         For the toy project I decided to place myself in a Barbie box while posing as a toy Barbie. In doing this, I aimed to successfully display my Photoshop abilities while editing myself in such a way that made me look like a toy. The way in which I edited myself allows for the overall concept of a Barbie in a box to be emphasized. My stance is also relevant in showing how Barbies stand in more robotic ways as their limbs don't move as freely as human's do.          Each aspect of this composition is relevant in the piece itself and shows how I have turned myself into a toy. I was careful in how I photoshopped myself in to look like I was behind the plastic of the box and the cardboard encasing the doll. I also had to edit the box in a way that showed only myself as the doll and highlighted the plastic to look shinier and more realistic. With regards to myself, or the Barbie, I had to create an airbrushed and more fake lo

BW to Color Portrait

BW TO COLOR PHOTOSHOP PORTRAITS Artist Statement:          The six portraits I have created are photoshop self portraits that show separate ways that color can be shown, based off of the same base color. Each portrait shares the same pink/purple color which is highlighted differently in each image. Some images include the base color on the hair, face, lips, etc. The base color ties to other colors through triad, monochromatic, complementary, analogous, shades, and compound colors.          These compositions are relevant in showing how colors vary on the color wheel and how each color relates to, but is different from the base color. Each composition is crafted in a slightly different manner than the next but shows how each and every color used correlates in a visually appealing way. My logo tag brush is also included which makes these portraits unique from other projects as my logo represents myself and is embedded into an image of myself.         Overall, these portrai

Tag Brush

TAG BRUSH ARTIST STATEMENT:          The piece I have created is a tag brush of my previously created travel logo. This brush can be used as a stamp and can be place wherever desired. The composition above shows the brush stamped a few times to create a psychedelic blue and purple effect that is visually appealing.          As stated before when describing my logo, this piece highlights my traveling and yearn to explore the world and other cultures. What is interesting about this composition specifically is that the logo is now a stamp that can be easily transferred and simply pasted on any other work of art. This makes it accessible and allows for it to be changed to multiple different colors and looks depending on what is necessary.         Overall, this tagbrush is relevant in being able to use the logo I created and apply it to other compositions. It can be made visually appealing and fitting to whatever color and look it needs to have, and is a simple way to put the log
